With the rear platform removed the full body structure is revealed. The wrecked car rested in place in the Roseville west yard for months following the accident. Car 3218, the other car in the wreck, was repaired and returned to serve on the Central line until 1949 and the City Subway line until 1954. Meanwhile, car 2699, damaged in a fire at the Bell Street Car House, was being readied there for trucking to the Lopez site.
