World War II, rehabilitated fleet and Pavonia Yard are still in future as 2650 begins climb to el, August, 1941. (SE. 4-307.56XL)

Testily taking the long, steep grade down the trestle, 2650 approaches meet with 2641 on upgrade.

Little suspecting its future role as the last surviving compromise roof car in the world, 2651 rolls along Jackson Ave. in June, 1944. (DE. 4-514.46LW) (Only known photo of 2651 in service).

Service days over, 2651 rusts away in Greenville Yard awaiting the scrapper's torch, along with sad remains of rest of wartime fleet.
