A rare turn on the Central line shows 2674 at the Jefferson Street terminus. 1944.	Motorman seems to dance an Irish jig as he steps aboard his car after turning the switch at the Erie station stop. This was always a manual switch because an electric switch would short out from water flowing down the slight grade here during rain storms.

Peaceful setting on the Orange line at Ridgehurst Road and Main Street, West Orange, belies cataclysmic struggle raging in Europe and the Pacific. Summer of 1944.	No need for hurry. The morning sun greets early risers as 2674 takes an unusual run on the Bloomfield line, far from accustomed assignment on the Orange line.
